Now as the Thanksgiving, Halloween and other events are over, it is time to enter the new and the last month of the year. I know that you are excited because the holiday season is soon about to arrive and finally we all will have time to sit, relax and enjoy time with our families.
But, we all need entertainment and nothing is better than watching movies and shows. Just like every other month, the streaming giants, Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, have refreshed their libraries for the month of December.
This time their primary focus is on making the holidays and Christmas of their subscribers the best. There are a lot of movies and shows arriving this month including Netflix and Amazon Prime Video originals.
Titles Coming To Netflix and Amazon Prime Video
Being the last month of this year, both the streaming services would love to garner as many people to their platform as they can because this is the last month of the quarter for the companies too. So, a lot of revenue depends on the month of December.
The list of movies and shows is quite extensive and I am sure you will love it. So, let us jump and take a look at the films arriving on Netflix and Prime Video in December.
Boogie Nights (Amazon Prime Video)
Starring Burt Reynolds, Mark Wahlberg, and Julianne Moore, this 1997 comedy-drama film revolves around a porn director who signs a young guy and makes him the biggest star in the whole industry.
Though there are certain things that don’t go according to the plan and then drugs come into the picture. The movie is truly great and will leave you engrossed.
8 Mile (Netflix)
The semi-autobiographical movie is based on the life of Marshall Mathers aka Eminem. The story revolves around a young guy who wants to gain respect and create a name for himself in the hip-hop community.
He is from Detroit’s 8 Mile and works in a dead-end job with a troubled mother and sister. The movie even won an Oscar for Best Original Song for Lose Yourself written and performed by Eminem. It is even considered one of the best hip hop songs of all time.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (Amazon Prime Video)
Rachel Brosnahan portrays the character of Miriam Maisel in the show. The character’s life is great including a perfect marriage, excellent place, and everything. Though things take a turn when she decides to pursue comedy, the talent which she didn’t know she actually had.
The Amazon Prime Video original has already won Emmy and Golden Globe awards for the first season. We will have to see what the second season offers.

The season one of the television series will finally arrive on Netflix. The show revolves around the story of a corrupt cop whose life is full of addiction and sex.
He turns into a hitman, but things change for him as he encounters a positive horse named Happy. The show stars Christopher Meloni as Nick Sax and Patton Oswalt as Happy and is based on the graphic novel of the same name.
The Big Short (Amazon Prime Video)
Creating a non-fiction literature is a really tough task, but the direction and story by Adam McKay make it look easy.
Starring Christian Bale, Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, and Brad Pitt, the movie revolves around the finance experts who predict the downfall of the share market. The film will certainly remind you of Wolf of the Wall Street.
Michael Jackson’s This Is It (Netflix)
When Michael announced his concert in 2009, the world was excited as hell. But, the King of Pop left the world before the concert and nothing was more heartbreaking than it. But, Michael Jackson’s estate tried real hard and gathered all the practice sessions together to make a documentary-type movie.
It even has the practice of the performance he did just the days before his death. The movie has many never-seen videos of Michael just before his untimely demise.
The Breadwinner (Amazon Prime Video)
This 2017 movie won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film. It revolves around the people living in Kabul, Afghanistan under the control of the Taliban.
The movie primarily focuses on an 11-year-old girl named Parvana and her family. One of the highlights for me throughout the movie is the beautiful animation, which brings out the gorgeousness of Kabul.
Mowgli: Legend Of The Jungle (Netflix)
Netflix is creating its own version of Jungle Book with the new Netflix orignal movie Mowgli: Legend Of The Jungle. This is one of the story which never gets old irrespective of how many time you watch.
In this Netflix orignal, you will still see all the famous characters along with Mowgli who is torn between the humans and animals. Will he ever able to create a balance between his race and family.
Iron Man 2 (Amazon Prime Video)
Well, I don’t think I should waste my time introducing the man or the film series that made MCU what it is today. The second installment of the Iron Man series will arrive on the streaming platform exactly on the day of Christmas.
Well, this means the eve is going to be fantastic. I am sure you have seen this film many times, but I also know that you won’t mind seeing it once more.

Avengers: Infinity War (Netflix)
Do I really need to introduce this film? The biggest Marvel Cinematic Universe as of now is coming to Netflix by the end of December.
Thanos will finally arrive with the mood to destroy the Avengers and we will enjoy it with popcorns.
