Amazon has announced a slew of new products to take on the smart home market. All devices belong to Alexa family and allow you to interact with Alexa apps.

Amazon has upgraded there Alexa enabled Echo to 2nd Generation Echo. Most of the changes are done so that it can compete with Google Home and Apple HomePod.

HomePod has been launched as a high-quality speaker rather than the smart device and Amazon Echo was lacking in that department. Now with the 2nd Gen, they have upgraded the speakers with Dolby processing with immersive, 360° omnidirectional audio.

You can get Echo in fabric and metal finish where fabric finish is $20 cheaper than metal finish. 2nd Gen Echo in Charcoal, Heather Gray, and Sandstone fabric is available at $99.99 where Oak, Walnut, and Silver finish is available at $119.99.

Echo Plus

Echo Plus With Alexa Enabled Home Hub

This is a big brother to Echo and available in Black, White and Silver finish at $149.99.

The only difference between Plus and Echo is a built-in hub for your smart home devices. So that you can setup and use those devices easily. Currently, it also giving one Philips Hue Bulb free with the Echo Plus so you can experience the smart home. That’s $20 rebate right there.

Rest of specs are same as Echo including upgraded speakers with Dolby processing and extended bass to fill the room with immersive, 360° audio.

There is an inbuilt speaker available but you can connect the external speaker with 3.5mm audio jack. It also supports Bluetooth speakers as an external connection.

This device comes with a 4 microphone array, beamforming technology with noise cancellation to listen to your command clearly. This has almost all the functionality as Echo Show expect the big screen and better speaker.

Fire TV

With just a few days left for people to get their hands on Apple TV 4K, Amazon has come up with their own 4K TV unit. It supports Ultra HD video at 60fps, HDR, and Dolby Atmos audio.

Fire TV is Alexa enabled so you can ask it for play music or to control your smart home devices. So it’s easy to search the shows you want to play with just a single voice command.

The Fire TV device is lacking some of the features from Apple TV 4K but it comes at a fraction of the cost at $69.99. Amazon will throw an Echo Dot along with it if you are willing to pay $79.99.

Echo Connect is a device which can connect to our home phone and add it to your Alexa network. You will be able to make and receive calls from your Echo device with your voice.

You can easily sync your contacts to Alexa with any Alexa enabled smartphones and use voice commands on any Echo device to make calls.

The device will be released on December 13th but you can pre-book it now. It’s a nice way to include an old-fashioned home phone to your smart network.

Echo Buttons

Amazon has also announced a new line of Echo Gadgets and the first gadget will be Echo Buttons.

These buttons will allow you to play games with your friends on Alexa enabled devices. Each button will illuminate and allows the player to trigger different events by pressing it. It will be a fun to play with your friends on these Echo buttons.

You will be able to get a pair of the buttons at $19.99 when it will launch. At this time, the launch date is not clear so you can subscribe for notification and Amazon will let you know when it will be available.

Smart home devices are the latest trend which is starting to take place in our homes and Amazon is just trying to gain a big market along with Apple and Google.
