A kid is standing in front of a mirror and checking his own appearance out. Eye mask, check, cape, check, Spandex uniform, check and superhero pose, check!
Even if one would not like to confess, it would not hopefully be wrong to assume that at least seventy to eighty percent of us indulged in similar activities, where we pretended to be supernatural beings such as for example,
– extremely powerful brute strength (ala The Hulk)
– strength and morality to a great extent (ala Captain America)
– miscommunication, sabotage when it comes to her enemies and cool fighting skills (ala Black Widow)
– royalty, humor, courage and cat-like reflexes and strength (ala The Black Panther) etc
and the list goes on…
However, I have just mentioned the Marvel superheroes here.
The DC Superheroes have an entire niche to themselves too. Some of the more recognizable and relatively famous superheroes are
– Wonder Woman (an Amazon from the island of Themiscyra, imbued with the powers of the gods, chief among them being that of Zeus’s lightning as well as a shield,)
– Batman (one of THE vigilantes to look or watch out for, if you are a criminal, who, unlike the rest of his fellow heroes, is simply human, and yet, he knows a variety of martial arts, is skilled in espionage, deception and misinformation etc)
– Superman (colloquially known as The Man of Steel, since his origins lie in his destroyed planet Kryptonite; he is also practically a God like Wonder Woman, blessed with super strength, or simply, godlike strength, the ability to fly, etc)
– The Flash (the Mercury or Hermes of the DC superheroes who is colloquially known as the Red Streak; his powers list from running really fast, time travel, creating thunderstorm-like vortexes using his speed), etc
and the list goes on…
All-Time Best Superhero Movies
Now, obviously, these superheroes didn’t just stay confined to the respective comics they emerged from because several of these superhero comics were adapted into TV shows and movies. Some of the latter which went on to become biggest blockbusters that one could ever have imagined.
Therefore, with this article, we bring you the 15 Best Superhero movies of all times. Do read on to find out about them.
The Dark Knight (2008)
The second installment in the Batman trilogy which was directed by Christopher Nolan. This particular movie reached astronomical heights at the box office. This movie is set 3 years after the incidents of Batman Begins (2005) and it had one of Batman’s most daring and ingenious adversaries ever to have walked the DC universe, The Joker.
When whispers about him began to emerge in Gotham’s underworld, and crime rates begin to accelerate, Batman decided that it was time he should stop him, and thus end the Joker’s tyranny over Gotham.
It was not so easy, however, as Batman had had to use all of his mental and physical faculties to defeat the Joker at the end.
Wonder Woman (2017)
Released in 2017 and based on the comics of the Amazonian warrior from Themiscyra, who had been defending and protecting the world since 1918 (after the end of the 1st World War).
This movie went on to become a beacon for all females (girls, women, and ladies around the world) because of its female lead, Gal Gadot. She gave us a strong, beautiful, intelligent, yet vulnerable Wonder Woman and also, the supporting cast of Chris Pine as air force pilot Steve who let her do all the talking (sounds unbelievable but true) and kicking and fighting, calmly enjoying watching her fight.
Released in 2017, and based on the Apocalypse series of X-Men comics, this movie gave us a different type of Wolverine. An older and much more fatigued version who was, as could be seen, nearing the end of his long life (which had begun from 1941).
This movie displayed the last of the X-Men, how they were hunted down and how their evil versions were created using their own blood. We also got to see Wolverine’s daughter X-23, who was his daughter by virtue of Wolverine’s blood that flowed in her.
Despite showing a Wolverine who was very old, it proved one thing, without a doubt, that the spirit of Wolverine was still unvanquished.
